Deaths in Police/Correctional Custody

Any death occurring while in police custody is subject to investigation to determine accidental, negligent or intentional cause. The Forensic Panel works with expert pathologists who are objective and able to focus the investigation on fact, and not on a desired outcome, which is indelibly advantageous as impartiality is pertinent in police, court and correctional custody cases. The Forensic Panel’s pathologists have vast death investigation experience – not only in criminal and civil litigation, but in their daily work as medical examiners around the nation. The experts who work on these cases have extensive knowledge in their discipline as well as a commitment of neutrality and accuracy. In addition, they hold board certification in surgical/clinical pathology, as well as subsequent board certification and training in forensic pathology. With the benefit of peer-review, the collaboration of experts provides unmatched scientific accountability and impartiality.
