Dr.
Thomas Rosano, Vice-Chairman & Professor of Pathology
and Laboratory Medicine at Albany Medical College,
is a key figure in the academics and clinical services
of the hospital and the medical school. As Director of
Laboratory Medicine, he oversees a forensic accredited
laboratory that operates independently of a medical examiner's
office.
Dr.
Rosano's career and expertise reflect a rich dedication
to various aspects of clinical chemistry, pharmacology,
and toxicology. He has been awarded grants on areas of
study ranging from immunosuppression in transplantation,
to breast cancer, to prostate monitoring. Having managed
over twelve research programs, he is often sought out
to clarify complicated research design and data.
In
addition, his teaching has included lectures at national
meetings to colleagues on a number of leading edge topics
of chemistry, pharmacology, and forensic toxicology.
Given
the depth of his experience, such expertise is particularly
helpful to The Forensic Panel in the often inscrutable
cases of toxic torts, death investigation, and other causal
considerations across the toxicology spectrum.
Dr.
Rosano is board certified in both in clinical
chemistry by American Board of Clinical Chemistry
and in forensic toxicology by American Board of
Forensic Toxicology. He also holds certification in a
variety of toxicological and biochemistry subspecialties.
