Dr.
Mozayani, is the Laboratory Director and the Chief Toxicologist
for the Harris County Medical Examiners Office in
Houston, Texas. She is nationally known for her expertise
on drug facilitated sexual assault, postmortem drug testings
and interpretation of post-mortem analysis. Recognized
for her diligence in toxicological examination and laboratory
standards, she is an Inspector for American Crime Laboratory
Directors (ACLD) Laboratory Accreditation Board.
An
Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology
and Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of
Medicine at the University of Texas, Dr. Mozayani has
been sought out by numerous prestigious agencies to inspect
for quality control in forensic testing, and to protect
the field by participating in accreditation. These organizations
include, in addition to the ACLD/LAB, the National Laboratory
Certification Program,National Institute on Drug Abuse,
American Board of Forensic Toxicologists, College of American
Pathologists (Athletic Drug Urine Testing, as well as
Forensic Urine Drug Testing) and the National Forensic
Science Technology Center.
Prior
to her position at the Harris County Medical Examiners
Office in Houston, Dr. Mozayani was the Chief Toxicologist
for the District of Columbia at the Office of the Chief
Medical Examiner.
Dr.
Mozayani has presented at major meetings of the American
Acedemy of Forensic Sciences, and is recognized as a Fellow
of the organization. A member of The International Forensic
Toxicologists, she recently presented a paper for their
annual meeting in Paris. She has presented on cocaine,
marijuana, amphetamines, inhalants, opiates, GHB, alcohol
and several prescription drugs, and is nationally known
for her expertise on drug facilitated sexual assault,
and drug & alcohol consumption.
Dr.
Mozayani, a delegate member of the American Society of
Crime Laboratory Directors-Laboratory Accreditation Board,
and the Canadian Society of Forensic Sciences, is also
an active certified Community Mediator in Harris County.
Her
leadership, intellectual vitality, and professional rigor
contribute to the integrity of forensic toxicology in
North America.
