Who We Are
Panel specialists are clinicians first, teachers second, and expert witnesses third. Each member is board certified, academically affiliated at a highly respected institution, and distinguished as a Director, Chairman, Associate Professor or higher rank. The Forensic Panel was founded by Michael Welner, M.D., a preeminent forensic psychiatrist at New York University School of Medicine.
The Panel screens each potential member before offering admission to ensure the nominee's previous court experience reflects candor and honesty. Panel specialists have consulted in over 40 states and internationally, helping to resolve questions in numerous areas of the law.
A Forensic Institution
The Forensic Panel is dedicated as an institution to the enhancement of scientific integrity in the courts. In addition to consultation, The Forensic Panel publishes the law and science journal, The Forensic Echo, which covers behavioral and forensic sciences in higher court decisions.
The Forensic Panel also conducts original research in such areas as peer review and the The Depravity Scale, reflecting our mission to seek out truth at the cutting edge.
