Stephen Snyder, M.D. is Board Certified in Psychiatry and Neurology. He currently serves as an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and an Associate Attending of Psychiatry at Mount Sinai Medical Center. Recipient of the distinction from The Society for Liaison Psychiatry for outstanding paper by a trainee, Dr Snyder has established a very respected academic and clinical career. He is renowned as a gifted teacher with the capacity for explaining the most complex ideas in understandable and human terms.

Among his many notable publications, Dr. Snyder is author of the book chapters, Psychiatric evaluation of the liver transplant candidate and Conflict resolution: experience of consultation-liaison psychiatrists. Furthermore, he has served as editorial reviewer for Psychosomatic Medicine, Psychosomatics, General Hospital Psychiatry, Hospital and Community Psychiatry, Comprehensive Psychiatry and The Journal of Neuropsychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences.

For nine years, Dr. Snyder has maintained a highly respected practice specializing in couples therapy and sexual disorders, and has had a meaningful presence consulting on cases to both the prosecution and defense. His activities also include somatoform research and psychosocial assessment of transplant patients.
