Elkhonon Goldberg, Ph.D.
Elkhonon Goldberg, Ph.D., ABPP/ABCN, is an internationally renowned neuropsychologist. Director of The Institute of Neuropsychology and Cognitive Performance and Director of The East-West Science and Education Foundation, he is the most recognized thinker on the mysteries and potentials of the frontal lobe, brain executive functioning and cognitive neuroscience today. Dr. Goldberg’s skills extend beyond assessment to include cognitive retraining.
A Diplomate of The American Board of Professional Psychology and the American Board of Clinical Neuropsychology, Dr. Goldberg is a Clinical Professor of Neurology at NYU Medical Center. He also serves on the faculties of Columbia University, Mt. Sinai School of Medicine, The City University of New York, and the Fielding Institute. Many of the most promising and accomplished young neuropsychologists in the world have been trained by Dr. Goldberg.
With over 20 years of experience in neuropsychological diagnosis, cognitive rehabilitation, and forensic neuropsychology, Dr. Goldberg’s expertise has contributed to cases around the United States. His areas of expertise include executive deficit and memory disorders, attention deficit disorder, dementia, traumatic brain injury, and others.
A disciple of the Russian pioneer in neuropsychology, Dr. Goldberg has extended Dr. Luria’s groundbreaking work. In the popular books, The Executive Brain, and The Wisdom Paradox, Dr. Goldberg displayed his gift for explaining higher intellectual functioning in terms the general public can easily relate to and apply. Additionally, Dr. Goldberg is the author of two neuropsychological tests, The Executive Control Battery and The Cognitive Bias Test. The merit of his scientific research has attracted the support of The Rothschild Foundation, The Allegheny-Singer Research Foundation and Warner Communications.
Dr. Goldberg’s forward thinking and clarity have earned him appointments to boards on several prestigious scientific journals including: Journal of Clinical and Experimental Neuropsychology, Journal of Psycholinguistic Research, Neuropsychology Review, and Clinical Psychology Review. He serves on the International Advisory Committee on Neuropsychology for the World Health Organization.
